Your Arms Are My Cocoon is a DIY emo/screamo project that began as a solo, home-recorded effort in the late 2010s and grew through Bandcamp, splits, and steady touring. The songs pull from Midwest emo and screamo influences, incorporating twinkly guitar lines and quiet verses that tip into shouted hooks, and compact runtimes. Early releases built an online following for their raw, diary-style writing and blown-out dynamics; live, the project leans harder into the screamo side with faster tempos, harsher vocals, and punchier arrangements.
The set was at The Met in Rhode Island during a two-day festival. It was loud, fast, and physical from the jump. The crowd was lively and aggressive; crowdsuring and moshing throughout their set. Overall: a sweaty, high-impact set that translated the project’s hooks into a sharper, heavier live presentation, with the band feeding off the floor and pushing the pace through to the final break.
